This study is being led by the Wig Neuroimaging Lab, which is part of the Center for Vital Longevity at The University of Texas at Dallas. Additional partners include UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital.
Who Should Apply?
We are seeking candidates that meet the following criteria:
-40-64 years old
-Right-handed
-Speak English as a primary language
-Has no history of neurologic illness
-Has no history of psychologic illness
What Does it entail?
It's easy! We schedule periodic visits to the UT Dallas Brain Health Imaging Center, where images of the brain are taken using a state-of-the-art MRI scanner. We also administer behavioral tests to measure your cognitive and motor functions.
While away, participants go about their daily routines while wearing a small activity tracker that measures physical activity and sleep patterns and answer questions about their daily diet and mood.

We appreciate participants for contributing to this rewarding work towards medical advances for the greater good and we understand time is valuable. Participants are financially compensated for their time and local travel.
We do our best to ensure participants have a comfortable experience, so we keep the number of visits light and keep a flexible schedule. We even provide food and beverages during visits to ensure our guests are well taken care of.
Our work is focused on studying the aging mind and understanding how and why the human brain ages gracefully for some, or with rapid cognitive decline for others. That decline can lead to serious dementia, such as Alzheimer's Disease, which the CDC confirmed is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. in recent years. We believe every person deserves cognitive health for life, but medical advances require understanding, which is why this research is so important.
